Dr. Jan Schaefer is a field Application Scientist for RedShiftBio, based in Germany. Prior to joining RedShiftBio in early 2022, he worked as a Field Service Engineer for Ultrafast Ti: Sapphire amplifier laser at Coherent for over two years. His diverse educational background ranges from applied analytical chemistry (BSc) to a variety of laser-spectroscopy techniques and computational chemistry (Msc). Jan earned his PhD from the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research, where he used Sum Frequency Generation(SFG) Spectroscopy to study reactive interfaces on a molecular level.
